How long do repairs take?
Typically 1-3 days depending on complexity.
Can I ship my repair to you?
Yes. We accept mail-in repairs from anywhere in the U.S. Here's how it works:
- Contact us through our Contact Page with photos and a description of the repair needed.
- We'll review your request and send you a Repair Authorization (RA) Number along with secure shipping instructions.
- Ship your item using a trackable, insured method — we recommend UPS with signature confirmation.
- Once we receive your piece, we'll confirm the scope of work and cost before beginning.
Please note that Stella Nuova is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit to our facility.
What if my item needs more work than expected?
After inspecting your piece, our jewelers may determine that additional work is needed beyond the original request. If that happens, we will always contact you before proceeding with any extra work or charges. No additional repairs will be performed without your approval.
Is engraving reversible?
Yes, engraving can be reversed when it is performed as part of a repair or service.
If you need an existing engraving adjusted or removed, our jewelers can typically correct it as part of a repair. Please note that engraved items purchased from Stella Nuova are considered final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange once engraved.
What about gemstones and diamonds during repairs?
We use special care in the handling and setting of all gemstones and diamonds. However, there is an inherent risk in handling and setting stones — particularly those with unstable enhancements, heat or pressure sensitivity, or existing fractures.
By submitting an item for repair, you acknowledge and accept this risk. Our liability for any item in our care is limited to $250.00 (or the amount of your insurance deductible, whichever is less). Items submitted without a stated value are covered up to $75.00.

How long do you hold items after a repair is complete?
Once your repair is finished, we'll contact you to arrange payment and return shipping. Please note that items must be paid for and claimed within 1 year of the date they were delivered to us. After that period, unclaimed items may be considered abandoned property under Florida law (F.S. 715.065). Written notice is provided at intake, and a certified letter will be sent at least 15 days before any disposal. For full details, please review our Repair Policy.
